AFSCME Strong Week Day One

Today, members across Oregon kicked off the state’s 3rd AFSCME Strong Week with a number of events designed to celebrate the union difference and help us keep building toward a brighter future for our jobs, our families and our communities.

AFSCME Local 88 members were voting on their great new contract that will help keep up with cost of living, keeps health care expenses under control and takes a number of steps to make our work is respected every single day.

“I’m pleased that, on the balance, we won more and are getting more than we had to give up. We are more than keeping up with cost of living increases and are coming out ahead,” said Vickie Crayne.

AFSCME Local 328 members were joined by our ONA brothers and sisters for a very popular roaming hot cocoa and hot coffee cart that visited all parts of the University to answer questions, share stories and get some needed Monday caffeine.

Additionally, members of both locals were asking coworkers to sign membership cards, participate in the PEOPLE program, why voting yes on the privacy protection question is so important and much more.

AFSCME Strong week will continue tomorrow so keep your eyes open for events near you and check back to our Facebook page for more highlights from across Oregon as we keep our great momentum going in 2018!
